In this two day class we will review the significance of the intake as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. We will cover everything that can be told from hearing the patients voice on the answering machine, through conducting the intake, to watching them leave the office for the first time. Lonny will create a huge context for diagnosis as the initiation of the healing process. We will consider signs of repression, denial, ambivalence, mixed motives, and how to work with resistance. We will look at projection, transference, countertransference, and intersubjectivity, and their importance for diagnosis will be considered. Exercises will be done with class participants.

On Sunday (day 2) two participants will have the opportunity to bring in patients for a full consultation with detailed analysis in front of the class including diagnosis, prognosis, and short, medium, and long-term treatment planning. The patients cannot be family members, significant others(including exes), or suffering from terminal illness.

**If you would like to bring someone in for evaluation by Lonny Jarrett in front of the class please email Michel Solounias at acuhealth1@gmail.com. Only two people will be included.
